CEO of DoorDash Talks Differentiating Food Delivery Services

CEO of DoorDash Tony Xu stopped by the New York Stock Exchange set to talk about how his food delivery service is able to compete in a crowded space. “For us, it’s really about developing a technology and software business,” said Xu on Cheddar. “In order to do that, we have to be able to build a lot of products behind the scenes in order to get you your food faster, get you food from places that have never delivered before, and get you all of the customizations that you want.” More recently, a lot startups have entered the food industry, but this has only validated the size of the opportunity, said Xu. “It’s about introducing selection to the marketplace that has never offered delivery before, and thats 85 percent of the restaurants in the United States.”
