The CEO of the online learning service Chegg, Dan Rosensweig, joined the Cheddar team to talk about the latest developments at his company. Chegg reported Q1 earnings on Monday which beat expectations and also announced that it acquired Imagine Easy Solutions, a global online writing tools company.
Rosensweig commented on the future of universities and colleges in the United Staes. He said students are finding themselves unprepared for jobs after their graduate, and college curriculums are currently flawed because they assume too much prior knowledge of students going into a program. “If colleges don’t begin to expand their curriculum, lower their costs, make themselves available more often online using technologies, the entire system is unsustainable to us. It’s a bubble,” said Rosensweig on Cheddar.
