Wrap-up: Tumblr Launches New Features, Tough Quarter for Macy’s

On Tuesday, Yahoo-owned blogging platform Tumblr launched a program called Tumblr Labs which will allow users to try out new features on the site. Some of the initial experiments include the option to change the color of a post on your dashboard and the ability to schedule posts in advance. In yet another difficult quarter, Macy’s reported a 7.4 percent decline in sales, as customers cut back on buying apparel and a strong dollar continues to discourage tourists. The department store operator reported earnings of .40 cents per share on $5.77 billion dollars in revenue, compared to the same period last year where the company reported .56 cents per share and $6.23 billion dollars.
