As Congress prepares to vote for new autonomous vehicle rules, The Drive's Alex Roy says safety isn't the major area of concern driving this legislation. Roy, the editor-at-large, also discusses a set of 14 rules, recently approved by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee, that would allow 100 thousand autonomous cars to to be exempt from safety regulations.
