Keeping Productivity Up and Drama Down
1m 48s
Cy Wakeman, author of "No Ego" and founder of Reality-based Leadership, discusses how workplaces are putting too much emphasis on environment and the happiness of their employees. Cy Wakeman talks about her role and responsibility as a drama researcher to find out why people are unhappy at work and get them to a place of self-reflection. Cy notes that happiness at work should not be tied to circumstances, and that more emphasis in work environments should be placed on productivity. According to research discussed in her book, an average of 2.5 hours each day is spent on what she calls "emotional waste" or gossip, resistance to change, and other behaviors that affect productivity. Her book helps employees and workplaces streamline these behaviors by refocusing their efforts to become more efficient.
