RedSeal CEO Ray Rothrock: Equifax Is a Case of "Bad, Bad Governance"
1m 58s
Ray Rothrock, CEO and Chairman of cybersecurity company RedSeal, says the Equifax data breach was a bad accident waiting to happen. As its ex-CEO Richard Smith takes the stand on Tuesday in front of Congress, Rothrock says waiting for almost three weeks to tell the board about the massive breach was the worst decision Smith could have ever made. He believes cybersecurity is a board-level problem and explains how the governance of Equifax is completely "out of whack," with no incentives for the board to do anything right. He gives tips on how to avoid a data breach and what the CEO's role is if his company gets hacked.
