Uber's Bad Press Is Giving Lyft a Lift
2m 20s
Danielle Levitas, SVP of Research at App Annie, discusses the latest data the company has released on the ride-hailing industry. Lyft appears to be closing in on Uber, with user growth climbing 115% to 5 million users in the first three months of the year. Uber only grew 25% in the same timeframe, though its user base of 8 million is still bigger than Lyft's. Levitas discusses the effect the series of bad press since the Fall of 2016, including widespread claims of sexual harassment and the ousting of CEO Travis Kalanick as CEO, has had on Uber. But what does Lyft have that Uber doesn't? Levitas notes that the only thing separating the two companies is Lyft's squeaky-clean image compared to its biggest competitor.
