Social navigation app Waze introduced a new carpool feature this year. The service lets users match with drivers who are traveling along the same route. It's currently only available in California, but just this week, Waze made the service available for free in states impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Kate Balingit, Head of Carpool for Southern California at the company, says the company has been live in Texas and Louisiana for 48 hours, and is considering adding service for those impacted by Hurricane Irma in Florida.
