How do you get your news? News app Flipboard aims to pull news and content that spark your tailored interests, all in one place. CEO Mike McCue joins Cheddar to explain how the app curates content to help readers find stories that fit their interests.
McCue says he believes that curation is the best way to cut through sensationalism and fake news in the news cycle. He emphasizes that his app business model is not about driving the numbers to the max, rather it focuses on quality over quantity.
The CEO also feels that you can't just rely on algorithms to keep fake stories from user's feeds, and that it's crucial to get all of the right pieces working together in order to curate the right consumer environment.
