Researchers are working on a new form of male birth control. This contraception comes in the form of a hormonal gel, which is said to inhibit sperm production while maintaining healthy testosterone levels. Dina Fine Maron, Health & Medicine Editor at Scientific American, explains how the new gel application compares to previous clinical trials. In 2016, male birth control shots were put to a halt after men experienced side effects such as acne and mood disorders.
