Protests turned deadly in Charlottesville, Virginia, killing one and injuring 19. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe called a state of emergency as hundreds of armed white supremacists marched through the streets, inciting violence.
“This is not unique to Charlottesville,” the city’s first lady, Emily Blout, says on white supremacy. “Lives were lost, and it’s their fault… but this is a temporary glitch.”
Blout joins cheddar to discuss how Charlottesville is faring after the shocking events of the weekend, but ensures that the “spectacle” will not throw off the real work they are doing there.
